Dear families:

We wanted to share some great news as we head into Thanksgiving Recess (reminder: no school the rest of this week). We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled in West Irondequoit schools will be able to receive FREE breakfast and lunch at school starting Dec. 1, 2023

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has expanded access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), allowing eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge. What does this mean for WICSD students? Effective Dec. 1, 2023, all students will receive meals at no cost to your household for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year. No further action is required of you.

If you have any questions, please contact WICSD Food Services atl (585) 336-2953 or 336-3063. You can also email [email protected]Please note: Families/students whose lunch accounts have a negative balance are still required to pay the balance.

We hope you enjoy a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Aaron R. Johnson, Superintendent

James Brennan, Assistant Superintendent of Finance

Betsy LoGiudice, School Lunch Director
